Happy Birthday
Ladybug is four years old today. Here she is after school yesterday with her birthday hat, new book, and sticker on her shirt that says "It's My Birthday". I made banana cupcakes with buttercream frosting for snack time at school. Happy Birthday Ladybug!! We love you.
I tinted the frosting pink, light yellow, and........what was supposed to be lavender or purple turned out to be brown. I'll never try to make purple again! Light blue would have been adorable.... oh well, next time :)

It's All Right Here, In Black & White
Oh, what a beautiful day yesterday was.....warm and wonderful with sunny blue skies. After so many cloudy, dreary and rainy days, yesterday's weather was like a dream come true.
We met Snuggle Bug and her mommy, M, at a little park early in the evening and played until the mosquitoes bullied us off the playground. I ended up taking SO many pictures. I don't know why, but for some reason I like photos in black and white. Of course I love color photos too.... I just thought I'd do something different today.
SnugBug has grown so much, and she's talking so much now too. Simply adorable. She went down the slide MANY times, and every time right before she headed for the ladder she would hold up her arm with her finger pointed at M and say "Mommy, I go slide now, K?" It was the cutest thing ever :)
Peanut seemed to enjoy picking things, like dandelions, and an empty, sticky old juice pouch he found hiding in the grass. At one point they were all playing with the gravel on the playground. I was thankful Peanut wasn't trying to eat the gravel, which I thought for sure he would do; though we were watching him like a hawk to make sure his curiosity didn't get the best of him.
Here's a boatload of pics......I really went crazy this time.

Pics From A Friend
These pictures were taken by a friend last week at a play date in the park..... During the first half of our time there it was miserably humid and hot. By the end though it was clouding up and got much cooler. Us moms were lovin' that - we were sweating like crazy, especially trying to keep up with the kids :) I couldn't wait to go home and jump in the shower. But as always, we had a great time with C and her three kiddos!

Play Date w/ Friend From School
It's so nice to see your preschooler break out of her shell and make a friend. The mom of a sweet little boy at school approached me a couple weeks ago about getting together some time. She said she asked her son who he would pick if he could have a play date with any friend from school, and he picked Ladybug. I'm so glad he did.
Today was the big day. Her cute little friend "E" and his Mom and Dad came to our house this afternoon. Ladybug and E are very similar in that they both were very quiet in school at first, so busy watching everyone and everything and forgetting to participate with the other kids..... but at home they're full of energy and talking non-stop. It took them both a long time to get comfortable at school. Well they've both come a long way since August, and it's great to see them becoming little friends. The two of them getting together outside of school time was just what they needed.
They were shy at the start this afternoon, but it didn't take long for the fun to begin! We went outside, and even though it's about 25 degrees cooler than it was a couple days ago......and had rained earlier so everything was damp, they had so much fun together. They even sucked us adults into their game of tag! And it was great seeing her chase and be chased all over the yard because she would never really play tag with other kids - but she did with E :) They rode bikes and played on the swing set, and jumped on the trampoline. Us parents had a great time talking and getting to know each other. We're invited to their house for the next time we get together.

Progress On Wood Splitting - and pics of the kids
Well, Hub spent lots of time out back splitting logs and using the chain saw to cut the huge logs in quarters. One of his co-workers is going to take most of the wood, which is great because we don't need that much. I took these pictures today to show how much is done, and how many logs are still left. My brother is going to take some of the logs, which again is great because we definitely don't need that much!
All of this will eventually be gone....don't know how many loads/trips it will take his co-worker to get it all to his house.
A lot of these stumps will be taken by my brother, so lots less work for hubby - plus, there's just so much more than we need.
Today in school she made the good old classic pasta necklace. I had to laugh because the cord matches her clothes perfectly.
Peanut is growing!! He's up to big sissy's shoulder.
And he's crying..... no more posing for pictures with big sis. Time for lunch!
